Help with Vael =( - Guild Wars Forums

Hi.

I just started doing EoN PvE campaign last night.
Today I came into the Grothmar Wardowns, and met Vael who's supposedly the collector of the ninja mask.

Ok. So I had a little chat with him and he went away. In the meantime I did some primary quests and zoned out; supposedly he should be in the middle of that zone afterwards so I can do his quests or something along those lines so he'll then become the mask collector (according to http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Vael)

I looked all over the zone from one end to another, I still can't find him.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? I want my ninja mask >_____<

have you done all the quests in the list yet? esp the ugly grawl one?
Might just check to make sure these are all completed (but I will also check with my character who finished all the vanguard quests to see if she has problems finding him and let you know).

update: spent the last hour clearing out wardowns and no sight of Vael.....so me'thinks it is truely a bug.

Wiki has all the info you need:

Grothmar Wardowns (random location around the Charr-prison, the forest or near Longeye's Ledge)

Note: At this first encounter he does not give any quests and he won't spawn again upon entering Grothmar Wardowns the next time. In order to make his quests available, you have to complete The Missing Vanguard first. Then you'll have to find Vael for Be Very, Very Quiet.... After this Captain Langmar will give you further quests involving Vael.

Grothmar Wardowns as a collector that offers you Mask of the Mo Zing for 250 Superb Charr Carvings (after completing Single Ugly Grawl Seeks Same for Mindless Destruction in Ascalon)

He will also randomly spawn with you as an ally upon entering Grothmar Wardowns, Dalada Uplands or Sacnoth Valley.

Ok.. I'm gonna go on and do teh Vanguard Quests, and see if he pops out *anywhere* in sight.

I haven't finished "The Missing Vanguard"

I had finished all the vanguard quests....and he didnt spawn for me (did them all with my first character before they added HM etc to get the faction, so yeah did all the quests.....).....but not a problem since I dont care about the funky mask thing.

Ok, since there seems to be confusion, even with wiki links, here is a walkthrough.

1) Exit Longeye's Ledge to Grothmar Wardowns.
2) Take the trail to the right, past the rez shrine (follow the bunny).
3) At the end of the trail, Vael will appear, and talk to you.
4) Complete the Vanguard quests listed on wiki.
5) Enter Grothmar Wardowns to find Vael as a collector at end of trail where he first spawns.

I did all of the Vael quests....ALL of them, and he just isnt there, but like I said I really dont care since I dont want the mask, I had only looked for him since the OP was having problems. (yes this is a repeat of my previous post but seems what I said didnt get understood).

I did every Ebon Vanguard related primary quest available (and it's requirements), yes including The Missing Vanguard primary. It didn't take very long to do those quests.

Unlocked him as a collector earlier today. Here's a screenshot.
